Warblade Maneuvers per Level: Balancing Power and Cool Abilities

As a level 9 warblade, I've been wondering about the balance of my maneuvers and class abilities. One concern is that Moment of Perfect Mind takes up a significant portion of my maneuvers, leaving me with limited options for saving throws. With only four maneuvers readied at any time, every maneuver used to take care of saving throws feels like a precious resource.

On the other hand, our group has yet to test out these new abilities in play, and it's possible that we'll discover that warblades are less broken than they initially seem. In fact, I ran some numbers on a warblade spamming Time Stands Still versus a fighter full attacking, and found that the defecit the fighter needed to cover with his unspent feats wasn't as great as expected.

One of the key benefits of being a warblade is access to Battle class abilities, which include Weapon Specialization feats and the ability to shift Weapon Focus to any weapon. This flexibility can be huge in certain campaigns, particularly those where tumble skill is important. Additionally, the warblade's better skill list and skill points provide an advantage over fighters.

In contrast, the swordsage's recovery method seems less effective, and they can only ready one copy of a maneuver at a time. This means that they may burn through their better moves quickly or struggle to use their larger array of maneuvers.

Overall, I'm excited to see how warblades will perform in practice, particularly when it comes to combining their Battle class abilities with their maneuvers and stances. While the loss of some feats may seem significant, the unique powers granted by these abilities make up for it.
